I have now finished reading Neal Stephenson's Baroque Trilogy: Quicksilver, The Confusion, and The System of the World.

They are highly recommended - Stephenson brings to life a time in which Alchemy developed into Chemistry, Maths developed into Calculus, Banking developed into Finance, and a lowly Vagabond develops into a Swashbuckling AntiHero - with a ton of Gold.
